GCC Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on Chinese Aluminium Imports Amid Surging Influx
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has enacted anti-dumping duties on aluminium alloy products from China, effective March 20, 2025. This decision, announced by the GCC Ministerial Committee, is a direct response to the substantial surge in Chinese aluminium imports, which have been entering the regional market at prices deemed unfairly low. Following a comprehensive investigation and recommendation by the GCC Permanent Committee for Anti-Injurious Practices in International Trade, the duties target flat or grained rectangular (including square) aluminium alloy sheets, plates, coils, and strips, coated or colored, with a thickness between 2.0 mm and 8 mm. The GCC Secretariat General's data highlights a dramatic increase in Chinese aluminium import volumes.
